Vitamins Products for Hair Loss

Shampoos today never fail to advertise vitamins in their products. They claim that vitamins will make your hair “shiny and healthy” much like they can do to skin. But the truth is that vitamins are important to the hair, not to promote “health” but to promote growth.

When going for such products, it does take two to three months before your head can manifest a radiant crown of hair. That’s why shampoo companies also advertise regularity and this is not just for them to earn big bucks but for your own benefit too. Some shampoos specializing in hair growth have carefully measured amounts of vitamins in their products.

If you have hair loss problems, these are the vitamins you should check for in hair growth shampoo bottles the next time you’re in the supermarket.
1. Vitamin A. This is an antioxidant vitamin, helping your body improve blood circulation and for you to have great skin. It also produces sebum in the scalp which is the body’s natural oils, moisturizing it and encouraging hair growth. However, doctors have warned that more than 25, 000 IU of Vitamin A daily can cause hair loss. That’s why shampoos just put the right amount of Vitamin A in each bottle.
2. Vitamin C. Also an antioxidant naturally found in citrus fruits such as oranges, lemons and grapefruits. It can help maintain great skin, including a healthy scalp.
3. Vitamin E. Another antioxidant that also enhances blood circulation in skin and the scalp. They can be taken orally on a daily basis or eaten as green, leafy vegetables, in soybeans and nuts.
4. Vitamin B3. Also called niacin. Also promotes blood circulation in the scalp. It can be found best in white meat.
5. Vitamin B5. Or Panthothetic Acid. Commonly found in most shampoos. This vitamin will stop the growth of gray hairs. It can also help stop hair loss.
6. Vitamin B6. This is the main component of melanin which gives our skin and hair its color. Having an ample supply of vitamin B6 will allow your hair to come out with a deep and glowing natural color.
You can take these vitamins in its synthetic form however, medical practitioners’ advice people to take them in their natural and organic form to prevent side effects. Most synthetic vitamins are cheaper though, but you have to buy from a reputable source. It would promote overall health not only for your hair, but also for your body.

Nurse's Secret - Cure Eczema Naturally With Coconut Oil Fast!

Eczema is an acute or chronic skin disorder that is characterized by itchy rashes. These rashes can be red, dry, scaly and/or leathery. There are generally three types of eczema. These include atopic eczema, dyshidrotic eczema and nummular eczema. Atopic eczema is a chronic, usually recurring condition with "flare-ups". This happens when new patches of eczema appear and they are called remissions when the eczema is not evident.

One possible cause for eczema that has received a lot of focus from dermatologists and other skin doctors is a shock to the nervous system or long-term mental strain or stress.

Irritant Contact Eczema is caused by coming into contact with any soap, detergent or chemical substance that you're exposed to on a daily basis. Wrongly, many people think eczema is contagious. There are two conditions that must take place for eczema to occur: a predisposition or an irritability of the skin, and a cause. A condition called Varicose Eczema is found in the lower part of the leg.

Your type of eczema usually depends on the cause along with the locations on the body. Eczema is dermatitis that is in a more advanced stage. Infant or baby eczema on the scalp or other body areas responds very well to coconut oil. It's a natural home remedy safe for your baby, a perfect eczema cream.

Babies, children and adults with eczema have skin that is sensitive to any or many substances such as soap, detergents, wool, make-up, cosmetics, lipstick, mascara, nail polish, shampoos, and many others.

Natural eczema treatments are best to get rid of eczema and I have found that virgin coconut oil is the best for healing eczema and/or dermatitis. Organic virgin coconut oil soothes the rough patches or itchy rashes right away and starts its work on healing eczema, dermatitis and many other skin problems safely without exposure to harsh chemical-containing eczema creams.

If the eczema is on your hands, coconut oil should be applied several times a day and at bedtime. And if the eczema is severe, it can be applied four or five times each day and at bedtime. Make sure to keep the eczema or dermatitis area moist with the oil. You can put a loose coconut oil soaked bandage on your skin.

Many people use coconut oil as a make-up remover and under foundation and it leaves skin soft, silky, and smooth. It quickly heals rashes, sores, bumps, blemishes, blisters and many other skin problems.

Health food stores and whole food groceries carry organic virgin coconut oil, usually in pint-size and quart-size jars. Make sure to buy the organic virgin coconut oil that is not refined, bleached and deodorized. Also you can order coconut oil online.

If you're suffering from eczema or have possible eczema symptoms now you may want to give coconut oil a try. Although it's a natural food you may want to get approval from your doctor first. Virgin coconut oil has helped many people heal their skin and cure their eczema for good. Eczema and its accompanying symptoms, provided you've discovered and/or avoided the cause, should heal up nicely.

Goldenseal and echinacea are both known for their abilities to cleanse the body. Taking doses of Vitamin C can also be beneficial. Individuals with ear infections should avoid consuming dairy products, as these foods and drinks tend to increase the body’s production of mucus. Clean the ears out once a week with 1/2 peroxide and 1/2 water let set for 10 minutes then turn to let drain, I then gently dry mine out with a q-tip just to get the excess moisture.

A suggested home remedy concerning the fungus associated with swimmer's ear incorporates the use of vinegar, as its properties effectively treat such condition. The formulation's recipe is simple, as white vinegar is mixed with water that is clean, at a fifty, fifty ratio. To administer, drop the blended solution into the ear. Then, wiggle the ear for proper distribution.

Natural Remedies For Diabetes

Diabetes is a condition where they body is unable to produce an adequate amount of insulin to burn up the body’s intake of sugars and starches, and is becoming increasingly common.

When there is a decrease in the production of the hormone insulin, then the body will have an excess amount of blood glucose or blood sugar which can have catastrophic consequences if the problem is not treated.

A diabetic may be either insulin deficient or insulin resistant. When a diabetic is insulin deficient their pancreas is not producing enough insulin due to a malfunction of insulin producing cells, therefore resulting in a lack of insulin and an excess of blood sugar.

When a diabetic is insulin resistant the pancreas produces plenty of insulin, however, the body does not process the insulin properly and therefore it has the same result with an excess of blood sugar.

If untreated, the high glucose levels in the blood will damage blood vessels which will result in long term health problems.
Some symptoms of diabetes are:

- Urinating frequently
- Thirsty all the time
- Tired
- Weak
- Light-headed

If you have any of these symptoms and have a family history of diabetes, be sure to consult your doctor. Natural remedies should be taken with your doctor’s knowledge so that he can make sure your diabetes is being controlled appropriately.

Natural Remedies for Diabetes:

1 - Taking garlic tablets can help with your circulation and regulate your sugar levels

2 - Two teaspoons of powdered Fenugreek seeds with milk or if you prefer you can swallow whole. Take every day.

3 - Alma has a high vitamin C content and therefore can be effective in controlling diabetes. Take a tablespoon of its juice mixed with a cup of fresh bitter-gourd juice daily for two months. This will secrete the pancreas and enable it to secrete insulin.

4 - 500mg of L-glutamine and taurine a day will reduce sugar craving and help release insulin.

Diabetics these days can monitor their blood sugar levels themselves in their own homes. By keeping regular checks on your blood sugar levels it may be possible to control your diabetes by a controlled and sensible diet. Not all diabetics will be able to use diet on its own to control their diabetes and your doctor will be able to assist you with this.

It is important to stick to a strict low calorie, high carbohydrate diet with lots of fibre and little or no sugar. Daily exercise is also very beneficial in controlling your diabetes. Obese people are at a much higher risk of having diabetes.

A combination of garlic, watercress and parsley eaten daily can also help to regulate blood sugar levels so this is a good choice to add to your diet.

Remember diabetes is a serious condition and although may be able to be controlled by diet and natural remedies, always do so with your doctors knowledge as for some diabetics it may not be enough and you may need to be given insulin to control the disease.

Leave on for half an hour rinse then shampoo.

Something most people have in their kitchen are thyme leaves. Boil about 4 to 5 leaves in two cups of water for ten minutes. After the mixture cools apply to your scalp and leave on for half an hour then rinse and shampoo. Also, you can make a tea of apple sage and rosemary tea then apply to scalp leave on for approximately 10-15 minutes rinse then shampoo.

There are many natural home remedies for the treatment and prevention of dandruff. Check out your local bookstore for books on herbal and natural home remedies.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Some structures in our bodies, such as nerves and ligaments, use tunnels to get where they’re going. One of the busiest tunnels is the carpal tunnel, which allows nerve, blood vessels, and ligaments to pass through the wrist and into the fingers.

There’s usually a lot of room inside the carpal tunnel. But when you use your hands and wrists a lot while typing, sowing, or doing other repetitive motions, tissues inside the tunnel may become inflamed and swollen, causing them to press against the nerve. This can cause pain in the wrist as well as tingling or numbness in the fingers.

One of the best remedies for carpal tunnel syndrome is simply to give your wrists a rest. In addition, there’s some evidence that eating flaxseed may help reduce inflammation in the body, including the wrists.

Flaxseed contains a compound called alpha-linolenic acid, which has been shown to reduce levels of prosyaglandins, chemicals in the body that contribute to inflammation. It also contains other compounds called lignans, which have antioxidant properties that can block the effects of harmful oxygen molecules called free radicals. This is important because free radicals are produced in large amounts wherever there’s inflammation, and unless they’re stopped, they make the inflammation even worse.

Some evidence suggests that getting 25 to 30 grams (about 3 tablespoons) of ground flaxseed or 1 to 3 tablespoons of faxed oil might be enough to help ease the symptoms.

Since the body can’t digest whole flaxseed, be sure to buy flaxseed that’s been ground, or grind it yourself. You can add the ground seed to hot serials or mix it into flour when you bake.

While you’re thinking about ways to get more flaxseed into your diet, you should probably also be thinking about how to get extra calories out. There’s scientific evidence that showing being overweight can increase the pain in the carpal tunnel – heavy people have a tendency to accumulate more fluid in the soft tissues, including the wrists. As fluids accumulate, they begin putting pressure on the nerve inside the carpal tunnel, while also reducing the amount of oxygen it receives.

Losing weight isn’t necessary a “cure” for carpal tunnel syndrome. But if you are overweight and having problems, losing even a few pounds might take some pressure off this vulnerable nerve.

Cold Sore Treatment: Proven 3-Step Remedy

Cold Sore Treatment: Proven 3-Step Remedy
By: Denny Bodoh

Are you searching for a good cold sore treatment?

Thousands of cold sore folks like you and I are doing just that every day.

Hey - do not spend your hard-earned money before you read about this powerful cold sore treatment 3-step plan. It is a home remedy that provides amazing relief, without having to buy some hyped up, over-priced secret formula.

There are a lot of over-the-counter and prescription cold sores products that claim to be the latest and greatest miracle. You buy one and try it, and, again, you are disappointed.

Truth is, most cold sore treatment products you find in stores are mainly over hyped comfort remedies. Nothing wrong with that. Smart business doing whatever you can to reduce the pain and discomfort while the sore is healing.

And even the prescription drugs that you read about in the papers have a very poor track record for reducing the length of the cold sore event. Studies show that the best of these may reduce the duration by a few days. No big deal when they last three to four weeks.

If you could find a cold sore treatment plan that would give you maximum comfort, while cutting the healing time by a week or more - would that not be great?

You can do that right now.

But, quickly, let us first look at what we are dealing with.

The root cause of cold sores, fever blisters, or oral herpes is an infestation of the herpes simplex virus. This parasite virus lives in your nerve cells and is usually dormant.

For cold sores, which occur mainly on the face, the herpes virus hides in the nerve ganglia under or behind your ear on the same side as your cold sores occur.

When this virus senses a weakness in your immune system, it will grab the opportunity to replicate. To do so, the cold sore virus will travel to the end of the nerve where it is living - ending up on the surface of your lip or nose.

During the replication process, a hoard of new herpes virus is created. Millions of your cells are destroyed in this process, creating an open wound right on the end of a nerve. Ouch!

Now you need an effective cold sore treatment.

If you are vigilant, you can stop the replication process, wipe out millions of viruses, and send the remaining virus back into hibernation.

And it is amazing how quickly your wound will heal once you have removed the cold sore virus from the area.

What treatment can do this?

Plain ice or another cold object, such as a can of soda. Seems too simple, right? But ice is a very good cold sore treatment. It reduces swelling, heat and pain and chases the cold sore virus away. Ice, or similar, is free and available just about anywhere you might be when you suddenly feel an outbreak coming on.

But, you must act quickly, at the first inkling of a cold sore. Even a couple hours delay can mean you will get a full-blown sore that could last 3 weeks or more.

Yes, as soon as you can, apply some cold object to it.

Hey - no matter how far along your blister, ice is a very good cold sore treatment. It can reduce the cold sore event by 35% or more. It will also work with, and boost, any other treatment, whether oral or topical.

A great virus killer for surface use is alcohol. It can sting, if you have not numbed it with ice first, but it is the gold standard for keeping a wound clean and reducing infections.

Use a cotton ball or tissue to apply it. You do not want to contaminate your fingers and spread it to someone else or to another location on yourself.

To speed healing even faster, try using some fresh sap from the Aloe Vera plant leaf. Just break off an inch or so of a leaf and apply the sap to the wound. Be sure to use the alcohol, or some other germ killer first. Aloe can heal right over an infection.

Also, do not waste your time on bottled Aloe Vera. It just does not have the healing power. Get a live plant for home - they are available nearly anywhere. Every household should have one. Aloe Vera is useful for a great many things besides a cold sore treatment.

There you have it - one of my favorite cold sore treatment plans in a nutshell. It is a powerful plan you can use right this minute to heal that outbreak.

Yes it is quite simple. It is a well proven and powerful three-step cold sore treatment.

Muscle Cramps

Whether you’re lying in bed at night, walking or writing a letter, your muscles are constantly contracting and relaxing. As a result, they need a lot of nourishment. When they don’t get it, they’ll sometimes contract into a tight, painful spasm known as muscle cramps. Cramps are muscle’s way of telling you it’s tired, hungry, and in need of rest.

Muscle cramps are painful, but they play a protective role. Essentially, they force the muscle to remain inactive until it has time to recover, usually within a few minutes.

While you can’t prevent muscle cramps entirely, choosing the right foods will make them less likely to return.

Muscles don’t move without orders from the brain. Before you can stand up, blink an eye, or turn the pages of the book, the brain sends electrical messages to the appropriate muscles, telling them when (and how much) to contract or relax. Minerals such as calcium, potassium, sodium, and magnesium, which are known as electrolytes, play a role in helping the messages get through.

If you haven’t been getting enough of these minerals or have sweated them out during exercise, a muscle may not get message to relax. This can cause it to contract in a painful cramp.

Of all the electrolytes, magnesium is one of the most important, because it helps other electrolytes do their jobs. When you don’t eat enough magnesium-rich foods, minerals such as calcium and potassium can’t get into muscle-fiber cells. So even if you have an abundance of other electrolytes, without magnesium they may be locked out and ineffective. People who are depleted of magnesium tend to have greater irritability of muscles and nerves and this irritability may cause muscle cramping.

Many foods contain large amount of magnesium – for example, a serving of tofu has 128 milligrams of magnesium, 32 % of the Daily Value. A serving of spinach has about 41 milligrams, 11% of Daily Value, a serving of mackerel has 82 milligrams, 20% of Daily Value.

You also need plenty of calcium, which helps regulate the muscle’s ability to contract. Dairy foods are the best source. A cup of skim milk, for example has nearly 302 milligrams of calcium and a serving of low-fat yogurt has 77 milligrams.

Getting enough potassium in your diet will also help preventing cramps. Bananas are good source of potassium, with one banana supplying 451 milligrams. Potatoes are also a good source, with half-cup containing 114 milligrams.

For most people, the problem isn’t getting enough sodium, it’s getting too much, since this mineral is found in a large amounts in many foods, particularly processed foods.

When it comes to fluids, however, it’s almost impossible to get too much. Whenever you perspire, you lose fluids from the muscle cells, which can result in cramping. Sipping water frequently throughout the day will help keep electrolyte levels in balance.

Muscles need more than electrolytes and water to function well. They also need glycogen, a sugar that comes from carbohydrates. When muscle tissue runs low on glycogen, they’re more likely to tire and cramp. Getting plenty of carbohydrates in your diet will help keep muscles working well. Good sources include potatoes, rice, bananas, and bread.

Anemia

In Greek, the word anemia means “no blood”. But that’s a bit of an exaggeration. People with anemia have plenty of blood. It’s just that the red blood cells are not carrying their usual compliment of energy-giving oxygen.

There are many forms of anemia, but the most common is iron-deficiency anemia. When you’re not getting enough iron in your diet or you are losing blood – the oxygen-carrying capacity of your blood drops and deprived of oxygen, you wilt. Anemia can make you sluggish and weak.

Women of childbearing age need iron for good health. Women past menopause and man need iron, pregnant woman need a much higher amount – 30 milligrams a day. It’s virtually impossible to get that much iron in the diet, so obstetricians often prescribe supplements. And for the rest of us it’s not too tricky if you eat meat, fish, and poultry. If you eat little or no meat, though, you’ll need to pay more attention to your diet – its not that vegetables don’t have iron. A half-cup of canned pumpkin, for example, has 2 milligrams of iron, or kidney beans and lentils have 3 milligrams in a half-cup serving. The total amount of iron is not a problem with these foods. Something called bioavailability is.

Bioavailability refers to how well our bodies absorb the nutrients in food we eat. There are two forms of iron with vastly different forms of bioavailability. The iron found in meat, fish, shellfish, called heme iron and it’s readily absorbs in the body. The iron found in plant foods, called noneheme iron, is less so.

Its possible to boost the bioavailability of iron with eating, for example pairing food that contains vitamin C with food that contains iron guarantees that you’ll get substantially more of the iron in your bloodstream. Iron is best absorbs in the acidic environment, particularly ascorbic acid and combining meat and vegetables in same meal makes it easier to get more iron.

If you suspect that you have anemia, your doctor will probably do a complete checkup to make sure that nothing serious is wrong. When the problem is not getting enough iron in the diet, however, it’s almost always easy to correct.

If you like clams, you’re in business. A bowl of 20 small steamed clams contains an astonishing 25 milligrams of iron.

Meats, legumes, and vegetables are also high in iron. Mixing heme iron from meats and nonheme iron from beans and vegetables will increase absorption of the noneheme iron 10 to 15 percent.

To get the most from your meals, be sure to have a little vitamin C at the same time - a tomato, orange juice, pineapple juice, or other citrus juices.

One nutrient that you don’t want to combine with iron is calcium. Calcium and iron compete for the same receptor cites on your cells and having calcium-rich foods in same meal with iron will set you back. You only have to remember one thing – if you’re concentrating on getting the most iron in the meal, wait until next one to include calcium reach foods or supplements.

The same goes for coffee and tea – both beverages contain tannins, chemicals that have a mild blocking effect on iron supplements. So don’t take your pills with your morning coffee.

Heartburn

Heartburn is the reflux of acid from the stomach and is usually accompanied by burning sensation in the region of the centre of the chest and gives nasty, bitter taste in the mouth.

The cause of heartburn is actually hardworking muscle in your lower esophagus. This is a muscle that relaxes to let food pass into your stomach, then quickly closes. But when it doesn’t close properly, the contents of the stomach can back up, creating burning or irritation under the rib cage – heartburn.

Coffee, alcohol, spicy foods and citrus fruits often bring an attack, and watch out for fried and fatty foods as well as tomatoes and chocolate. Any of those can irritate esophageal lining or relax your sphincter muscle, triggering reflux.

Do you suffer after spicy meals with onions? In some people the onions, not the spices, may be the cause. Try to avoid onions in your diet for a couple of weeks and monitor your progress – you may be surprised to learn that onions in some people causing heartburn.

Heartburn can have any number of possible causes – excessive stomach acidity, nervous tension, over-eating and structural problems in the oesophagus or stomach.

One of the best easy treatments for heartburn is alfalfa – being alkaline, alfalfa will regulate acidity in the stomach. You can take alfalfa tablets purchased from your health store or you can simply add more alfalfa sprouts to your salads, sandwiches and any other cold dishes.

Try to eat small, frequent meals, avoiding late suppers, chili and highly spiced or seasoned foods.

If you frequently suffering from heartburn, I’d also suggest taking Tissue Salts (Celloids) – Mag Phos reduces spasms and Nat Phos reduces acidity, nausea. You can find Tissue Salts in your Pharmacy or Health food store.

Warts

Ok, may be its time to stop blaming neighborhood resident toad and start looking toward your Prince or Princess Charming…

Warts are spread by various strains of the common papvaviruses, which don’t affect amphibians, only primates. They are so common that as much as 75% of our population either have them or will have them sometime in their life. In fact, after acne, warts are the most common dermatologic complaint. Save your money and try following remedies:-

Crush aspirin and apply it to the wart, and then wrap it in cellophane tape or any other tape that won’t allow air in. The important thing is not to use Band-Aid or anything that allows air in. You want the skin to get “pruny” underneath, so that the aspirin is absorbed. Leave it for a couple of days, then take the bandage off for a day and repeat few times until wart disappears. Don’t use this method if you are allergic or sensitive to aspirin.

Another trusted old method is a daily application of the liquid from a vitamin A. A capsule (25,000 international units) helps some people see improvement after several days – just open capsule and squeeze the contents directly onto the wart. The vitamin A should be applied only to the skin, since excess oral doses can be toxic.

If you have warts, consider strengthening your immune system, being of viral origin it would help your system to take course of Olive Leaf extract or Echinacea herbal treatments to get rid of this persistent virus. Also including fruit and vegetables rich in beta carotene (Vitamin A) in your diet in natural form will eliminate warts forever

Athlete’s Foot

No wonder that most people don’t refer to athlete’s foot by its clinical name: “ringworm of the feet”. Whether you running the marathon or just into a normal walking activities, what encouraging ringworm of the feet is your footware, your shoes.

Baking soda is a cheaper alternative to expensive food powders, yet it does essentially the same thing. Either sprinkle it on dry or make a paste by moistening one tablespoon of baking soda with lukewarm water. Rub the mixture on your feet and between your toes. After about 15 minutes, rinse it off and dry thoroughly.

Disinfect your shoes – Lysol and other household disinfectants can kill off any living fungus spores. After you take off your shoes, rub the insides with a cloth or paper towel that has a dab of disinfectant, and you can use hair dryer to dry out the insides of the shoes.

A mixture of two teaspoons of sea salt per pint of warm water provides a foot soak that helps with excess perspiration and stops fungus growth. Simply soak your feet for five to ten minutes at a time, repeating often until the condition clears. This saline solution help soften the affected area, so antifungal medications can penetrate deeper for better results.

You can also use Thyme herb for your foot soak – use cooled, strain infusion, or you can try diluted Apple Cider vinegar in your soak – this especially helpful if there is itching and redness. Sage herb soak helps with excess perspiration, just soak your feet in a cooled, strained infusion.

Dry your feet properly after washing, keep feet dry, avoid as much as possible nylon socks and stockings, avoid getting feet overheated, use clean and dry footwear and wear thongs in public showers, at swimming pools and gyms.

In theory, you supposed to wear a pair of shoes only once every five days in order to allow shoes really dry out between wearings, but if you don’t have enough shoes to do that, remember to wear different pairs as often as possible.
